The Pitt River Fishing Adventure
This adventure offers fly fishing at its finest in a remote
wilderness setting, only forty minutes from downtown Vancouver, BC.
The Pitt River, accessible only by boat, is a pristine catch and
release river with salmon, steelhead and four species of trout. We
provide fully guided day trips and multi-day packages with
accommodations.
Fly fishing is excellent year round on the Pitt, with
trout and salmon peaking at different times of the year. Dolly Varden,
Rainbow, Cutthroat and Bull trout can be found year round. The Dollies and
Bull trout are very plentiful, averaging three to five pounds.
Hooking and landing trout in the double digits is not uncommon.
Rainbow and Cutthroat trout peak during Sockeye and Coho seasons. Steelhead
trout are all available from January through May.
In
August, the Sockeye salmon arrive. These Sockeye are famous for
their fighting abilities, acrobatic jumps and for their size: the
largest Sockeye in the world. In late August and early September,
the trout fishing is also fantastic. Dollies, Cutthroat and Rainbow
trout are all gorging on Sockeye eggs while the Sockeye are
spawning. From September to December, you will find Coho salmon and
all species of trout as well. All trips are at least 8 hours per day and
includes an experienced guide and all gear. Contact us for more
information on rates and availability.
